This is a detailed study of some of Plato's most fascinating dialogues, the Symposium, the Phaedrus, the Sophist, and the Philebus, dealing with the topics of love, pleasure, and sophistic rhetoric. Plato's treatment of love, pleasure, and sophistic rhetoric waves itself through a blend of ethical, epistemological, and metaphysical issues.
