SOC 225 - Digital Society
This course introduces students to sociological perspectives on digital technologies in contemporary society, with particular emphasis on the role they play in the daily lives of Canadians. Specific topics might include social media; dis/misinformation; online shopping, dating, and gaming; Big Data, Al, and surveillance capitalism; and issues of privacy and access to information. ***Prerequisite: Completion of 12 credit hours or SOC 100 or permission of Department Head.*** *Note: SOC 100 is required for all majors in Sociology.*
