ARTH 302 - Art and Collecting
How does collecting art inform its value? This course examines the histories, theories, and practices of collecting and display. Students learn about the birth of modern museums, the history of private and institutional collecting, colonial collecting, and the role of custodianship, connoisseurship, and provenance in shaping a collection. ***Prerequisite: 30 credit hours of completed course work including ARTH 100 or INAH 100.***
